Scholarships
Through the NARCH program funded by the Indian Health service and NIH, the Board is able to provide a limited number of scholarships to support research career development in the biomedical sciences. Historically, the NARCH fellowships have supported AI/AN students pursuing MPH degrees, other masters degrees, PhD’s in social and biomedical sciences, MD’s, and other doctoral-level degrees. Successful candidates will receive monthly stipends to support their studies, and can use the funds as they see fit for career development. Doctoral candidates will receive stipends of 37K per year, and masters level students will receive 28K per year. The scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first served basis as long as the grant support allows. The successful candidates must demonstrate satisfactory progress toward degree completion during the course of their awards.

The Together for Children Child and Family Therapist promotes the role of mental health in daily life, and builds positive community support systems. This position provides clinical counseling, supports community development, reviews files, attends and participates in various meetigns and committees. Qualifications:Counseling: Requires minimum of two years supervised work experience in counseling families, couples and children. Master of Arts Degree in Social Work or Psychology is required. Licensing/Certification: Requires Washington State Counselor Registration, Washington State Certification. Maintain Department of Health’s required CEU’s each year (These CEU’s will be paid for by the program, but actual certification is the financial responsibility of the counselor) Personal Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills are required, as well as the ability to learn word processing, spread sheet and other software programs.

RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT MANAGER
NARA NW is an Indian-owned and operated Private, Non-Profit, that provides culturally appropriate education, physical and mental health services, and substance abuse treatment to American Indians, Alaska Natives and other vulnerable people. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT MANAGER to join the devoted treatment team at our 70 bed residential treatment facility. Our facility is unique because we treat individuals or families and their children and also because culture is a key component in all the services we provide. Native American culture is honored and embraced and clients from all races and backgrounds have benefited from the treatment approach at NARA NW.
The Residential Treatment Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Residential facility. Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure a culturally appropriate treatment model that is family and community based that includes child and family development, mental health care, heath care, and a gambling addiction treatment component. Will provide clinical direction and supervision, including the development and review of substance abuse treatment policies and procedures, the approval of treatment schedules, coordination of staff in-service trainings, and assures individual clinical supervision. Assures that all services provided are in compliance with funding source requirements, as well as county, state and federal regulations, and the NARA Quality Assurance plan.
TO QUALIFY:
Bachelors degree or equivalent, plus current certification as a CDS 2 or CADC II w/minimum of 5 years paid experience in substance abuse treatment and at least 1 year in a paid administrative capacity and a minimum of 5 years management experience. Masters degree & dually licensed/certified preferred. Must have as evidenced by work experience, academic background, and in-service and other training, a working knowledge of child growth and development, effects of alcohol and drug abuse/addiction on children’s growth and development and family counseling. Must have knowledge and experience with planning and budgeting, fiscal management, supervision, personnel management, employee performance assessment, data collection and reporting. Requires superior interpersonal, leadership, & consensus building skills. Must have disciplined empathy for A&D clients, understanding of alcoholism as disease, & knowledge of AA, NA, Alateen & other support programs. Knowledge of Native American culture is preferred.
